On August 19th, a netizen posted that they saw a Starbucks in Shizhuang Service Area, Nantong City, but the decoration was different from ordinary stores. The netizen stated that a regular store can buy a large American coffee for 32 yuan, but at this Starbucks authorized coffee service point, only a medium American coffee can be purchased.
On August 27th, a reporter from Jingshi Live contacted the official customer service of Starbucks, and the staff stated that Starbucks and Nestle do have this authorized service, which is not a "fake" Starbucks, and the coffee service is managed and operated by Nestle.
The dedicated customer service of Nestle's Starbucks coffee service stated that this project is a Starbucks authorized coffee service that Nestle has obtained from Starbucks. It is a legitimate location and can be set up in service areas, schools, hospitals, offices, and other business scenarios. Nestle owns the global marketing rights for Starbucks' packaged coffee, catering channel coffee, and tea products, in addition to its offline beverage business. The coffee beans used in coffee machines are consistent with those used in Starbucks stores; But whether the production tools, formulas, and finished product flavors of the beverage can be exactly the same as those of Starbucks direct stores is currently unclear to customer service. This issue can be registered for feedback.
In terms of pricing, the price of this type of authorized self-service point may be one or two yuan higher than that of Starbucks direct stores, and the prices between points are not uniform, with differences in pricing in different scenarios and cities. As for the total number of locations nationwide, customer service does not have exact data yet. Most cities with Starbucks stores have already opened this coffee service.
