Taiwanese media mentioned that Luckin Coffee’s entry into Taiwan may face strict scrutiny, and the Taiwan Affairs Office responded

On the morning of September 9th, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council held a regular press conference, and spokesperson Chen Binhua answered questions from reporters.

A Taiwanese journalist asked, recently, Taiwanese people discovered that the mainland brand Luckin Coffee was introducing materials and conducting recruitment on the streets of Taipei, which sparked heated discussions on the island. The Taiwan economic department immediately requested the agent to submit a special case application through the "Mainland Investment Channel". The outside world believes that Luckin Coffee may face stricter scrutiny or restrictions when entering Taiwan. May I ask how the mainland views the situation where Luckin Coffee is still unable to smoothly enter Taiwan and land? Taiwan frequently carries out strict reviews on the entry of iQIYI, Xiaohongshu, Luosifen, Zhang Xueji and Ruixing Coffee. The outside world believes that this will have a negative impact on private consumption and commercial exchanges across the Taiwan Straits. What's your comment on this?

Chen Binhua said that we are pleased to see Taiwanese compatriots using high-quality products from mainland China, and support two-way investment and win-win cooperation between enterprises on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. The Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities, driven by their own interests, deliberately obstruct and restrict mainland investment and products from entering the island, worsen the business environment on the island, and harm the vital interests of the Taiwanese people. This is an unpopular political manipulation.
